HELLO all, and welcome to this week’s Vince’s View. I hope you have had as sporting a week as I have.
Firstly I watched our U14s and U16s on Saturday and then it was off to Planet Ice to watch the MK Lightning narrowly lose 5-6 to the league leaders as they tried to snatch top spot.
After that I was off to the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham to see the BBL Cup Final and our last opponents, Newcastle Eagles claimed the title with a dominant performance over our BBL Trophy Semi-final opponents, Plymouth Raiders.
We have just announced that Robert Youngblood will be rejoining us after a short spell away at the Leicester Riders, I would love to say we simply loaned him out to them. We are delighted to have him back and look forward to his contributions on the court.
It’s off to Leicester on Saturday and a win there will see us climb into fifth spot and coach New will be delighted.
I expect a blood and thunder encounter against our fierce local rivals. If you’d like to join us there check out our website for details.
The lads will be in action at home on January 27 when Durham come calling, our attendances have been sensational over the last few weeks, so please keep spreading the word as we make the Lions Arena a formidable home advantage.
Congratulations to the National League U16s who have qualified for the semis of the National Cup, hopefully they can go all the way.
