Lions roar in London

LONDON CAPITAL 92 (Russell 26, Janusauskas 24, Gariba/Jivens 14)
MK LIONS 104 (Simon 19, Spinks 18, Naughton 17)

MK Lions kept alive their hopes of a more favourable play-off seeding with a 92-104 win at London Capital.

A balanced visitors' offence was led by 19 points from Maximillion Simon, 18 from veteran Dru Spinks and 17 from Justen Naughton. Capital's Jordan Russell with 26 points led all the scorers.

It was London's sixth home match in just 12 days and after a solid first quarter which they tied Lions 24-24 they allowed Vince Macaulay's team to gain control in the second period.

Lions showed the form that had them contending for the title earlier in the season by taking the quarter 27-12.

Taking a 36-51 lead into the third quarter Lions allowed Capital to shave six points off their advantage by the end of the stanza.

However, the Lions kept London at bay throughout the final period to move level on points with Everton Tigers in sixth position.

On Saturday Lions are on the road at Worthing Thunder. Tip-off 7pm.
