Plymouth Raiders came from behind to eventually see off the MK Lions in a thrilling 107-111 victory at Stoke Mandeville on Monday evening.

The first quarter saw both sides trade baskets in the early exchanges to leave the visitors leading 6-12 mid-way through the period, but a three-point play from Dru Spinks sparked the Lions into life as they rattled off a 15-3 burst to lead 21-15 with two minutes left in the period and the home side held onto their advantage to lead 23-19 at the end of the opening quarter.

The second period saw the Raiders get themselves back into the game as a 9-2 burst gave them a 28-32 lead, but back-to-back three pointers from Yorick Williams tied the game up at 34-34 with 5:21 left in the half.

The Raiders enjoyed their best period of the game after that as Florentino Valencia and Matt Hilleary combined for a 14-4 burst to take the score to 38-48.

The home side kept themselves in touch as they bagged the next nine points to trail by a single point at 47-48 with 90 seconds remaining in the half, however baskets from Alister Gall and Anthony Rowe ensured that the visitors took a lead at 47-52 into the locker rooms at the half.

In the second half both sides traded baskets throughout the early going in the third quarter before Anthony Martin and Valencia combined for 10 points for the Raiders to close out the period leading 74-79 heading into the final stanza.

In the final period the visitors opened with a 9-2 burst to take their biggest lead of the game at 76-88.

The Raiders maintained their lead, but the home side kept chipping away and trimmed the deficit to six points at 99-105 with less than a minute remaining.

A pair of free-throws from Yorick Williams and a Spinks basket got the home side to within two points at 103-105 with 54 seconds remaining, but that was as close as they got as the Raiders secured the victory from the foul-line as they made six of their eight free-throws in the final 48 seconds.
