MK Lions have put in offers for two venues in the city and hope to know where they will be playing their home games by the end of the week.
One of the venues is the former Sainsburys site at the food centre in the Theatre District while the other venue is on the outskirts of Central Milton Keynes.
Lions owner Vince Macaulay is expecting a response by the weekend, he told MK NEWS: "I'm trying not to get too excited about either of the venues because we've had too many false dawns before.
"As soon as they get back to me I will announce it - I have to sell our commercial packages."
Meanwhile, the Lions have been making giant strides forward on the court as they continue to build their side despite not having a permanent home for the season.
Standing at 7ft 2ins Lawrence Brown, born in Portsmouth with a playing career at American university side Fairleigh Dickinson Knights, has joined Keith Darden, 6ft 10ins, as the latest additions to a new-look Lions side assembled by rookie boss Mike New.
The 26-year-old can will add some versatility to New's team as he is able to take to the court in various positions.
Lions’ head coach Michael New said: "He will be one of our anchors on defence, he is a fantastic rebounder and he will always be one of the fastest players on court."
Over the last two seasons Darden has averaged six points and five rebounds a game, and has been shooting 45 per cent from the field.
Lions, who will play their opening three 'home' games at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, have already added Stefan Gill, Kris Clark and Travis Nelson to their roster for the 2010/11 season.
