A huge weekend awaits MK Lightning as their quest to climb up the English Premier League table continues.
On Saturday Lightning, reigning Premier League champions, will go head-to-head with current league leaders Manchester Phoenix.
Lightning go into the show piece fixture with confidence sky high following recent back-to-back shutouts against Peterborough Phantoms and Guildford Flames, and the 7-1 home defeat of Telford Tigers last weekend.
The man of the moment Blaz Emersic, who signed from arch rivals Slough Jets, will be looking to continue his good form in MK colours. The Slovenian has scored five goals in as many games after stepping in to injured Monir Kalgoum's shoes.
Player-coach Nick Poole will have an embarrassment of riches to choose from as Kalgoum is expected back in time to null the threat from Tony Hand's side.
Meanwhile, since the turn of the year Phoenix have lacked their cutting edge and have had to work hard to grind out narrow wins over, most notably, Sheffield, Swindon and Telford. The Manchester outfit also dropped points at league rivals Guildford Flames last weekend.
Former Lightning player James Archer will be looking to strike against his old side, while Poole's team will also be wary of imports Curtis Huppe and Marcus Kristoffersen.
