Teams from the Milton Keynes Double Club programme put their numerical know-how to the test when they took part in a World Cup Numeracy Challenge at stadiummk.
MK Dons Double Club
MK Dons Double-clubbers from Leon School and Sports College and The Radcliffe School were joined by a team from Arsenal.
A range of World Cup themed practical activities took place around the MK Dons stadium and the challenge culminated in a football tournament between all the teams in the indoor dome at Woughton.
Double Club is a learning initiative that has been brought to Milton Keynes by the MK Dons Sport & Education Trust and Milton Keynes Council Extended Services in partnership the Department for Children Schools & Families (DCSF).
Double Club takes place at The Radcliffe School and Leon School and Sports College and combines curriculum time football themed lessons in a 'double' session to include football coaching.
Twelve Year 8 pupils at each school take part in the 40 hour programme which uses football as a theme to motivate them to improve their literacy and numeracy skills.
