Jay O'Shea celebrated his first league start for Dons with a goal last night – and now he is determined to get more time on the pitch.
The winger blasted home from close range less than three minutes in to last night's 4-2 defeat by Stevenage after good work from Adam Smith.
Irishman O'Shea joined the club in the summer after impressing on trial but he has found first team chances hard to come by – not helped by an ankle injury picked up in September which sidelined him for three months.
"All I can do is try and take my chance when it comes along and hopefully I've given the gaffer something to think about," he said. "It's up to him.
"It's been frustrating as the injury kept me out for 12 weeks and when I came back the team were playing so well.
"I had to just bide my time, be patient, and wait for the chance so hopefully I've done enough to get in the gaffer's plans for the rest of the season.
"It was a dream start against Stevenage but we never really pushed on and we let them get back into the game."
