Dons launch ladies team

MK Dons Sport and Education Trust have set up a ladies team who will compete against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Ipswich Town this season.

MK Dons Ladies FC will play in the South East Combination League and the season will start in earnest on Sunday, August 16 away at Lewes before matches against local rivals Ipswich Town, Northampton Town and Norwich City, with a double header against Tottenham due in January.

The Ladies team are officially sponsored by Personal Group, who have agreed a new partnership the Dons, and their logo will appear on the shirt.

The Ladies will play their home games at Newport Pagnell Town’s Willen Road, and their first season will include matches in the FA Cup, League and County Cup.

Chairman Sue Meekcom said: “These are definitely exciting times for us all as we look to begin our first season as MK Dons Ladies FC.”

On Saturday the Ladies will play Tottenham at stadiummk as part of their pre-season programme.
