Dons have unveiled star signing Alan Smith after sealing the former England man's signature in an incredible swoop.

Smith joins on-loan from Premier League Newcastle for the rest of the season and could go straight into the side for tomorrow night's crunch League One clash with Sheffield Wednesday.

Former Manchester United man Smith, a striker or a midfielder, said that the style of football played and the ambition of the club attracted him to Dons and that he had no qualms about dropping down two divisions.

Dons boss Karl Robinson is delighted with his 'marquee signing' who he believes is still Premier League quality.
