Another loan spell for Daniel Powell could ultimately seal his place in
MK Dons’ first team, according to manager Karl Robinson.
The Dons boss is considering sending the 19-year-old forward out on loan in a bid to gain more experience.
Powell spent the majority of last season with non-league side Forest Green Rovers and while Robinson has already noticed a difference in the Dons’ youngest ever goal scorer, he is keen for Powell to continue his development.
Speaking to MK NEWS Robinson said: “When you look at his position we’ve got Angelo Balanta, Luke Chadwick and Lewis Guy there, and they’re extremely gifted players and it’s a different level.
“But he’s one who is in my plans and if he goes out on loan it will be purely for his education.
“He’s come back much better, he understands the game a bit more, he’s got better work ethic which is important.
“I think going out on loan is a real good option for him, it stands you in good stead, it’s tough, it tests you mentally and technically as well.”
Meanwhile, Robinson has rubbished reports linking him to a move for Blackpool defender Ashley Eastham.
Internet stories had suggested Eastham was on the Dons’ list of targets, but Robinson says there is no truth in the speculation.
“I can categorically say I’ve never seen the boy play,” Robinson added, “he’s never been on a list, he’s never been watched by Milton Keynes Dons so I don’t know what the agent’s playing at but I think it’s unfair.
“Maybe he’s trying to get him a move to another club and he’s using us as a bargaining tool but we’re not after him.”
