The parish council has agreed to pay £18,000 a year to keep the service going for under 16s and pensioners.
As reported inMKNEWS, Cllr Liz Campbell moved the motion on August 23 and the council voted unanimously in favour.
Cllr Campbell commented: “I’m pleased to say that West Bletchley councillors agreed to support my motion to restore free swimming for children and pensioners in the West Bletchley area.
“I’m delighted that councillors voted to restore free swimming and I’d like to thank all the local residents who turned up to support my motion.”
The council is now working with Bletchley Leisure Centre to finalise plans, which should not take more than two weeks.
Once these plans go ahead, the parish council will pay £1.45 per pensioner session and £1.75 for children.
West Bletchley residents accounted for 5,000 free swims at the leisure centre in the first six months of this year.
