A crime map of Milton Keynes will give residents an insight into the number and type of incidents in their area.

SaferMK launches a new crime map
Launched on Monday, the ‘Online Community Safety Mapping’ website will show police, council and fire statistics for each estate, town and village.
At the click of a mouse residents will be able to find out howmany assaults, burglaries, robberies and arson there have been where they live.
The site, which provides data of all crime and anti-social behaviour in Milton Keynes for the last 12 months, will display incidents per 1,000 people.
This means estates can be compared on all aspects of crime and anti-social behaviour.
Areas are colour-coded according to whether numbers of certain types of crime are above average or below.
It has been launched by SaferMK and was developed by MK-based company Zubed, with new figures for 27 categories of crime released every month.
Richard Solly, SaferMK manager said it offers ‘a clear depiction of crime and anti-social behaviour data’.
“Other similar sites have combined different levels of crime ranging from minor to very serious crime under one banner which can lead to confusion.
“By breaking the categories down this information is put into perspective. Through visiting www.safermk.com the public will also be able to access advice on being safe and reducing the chances of becoming a victim of crime.”
Cllr Vanessa McPake, responsible for community safety, added: “Milton Keynes is a safe place to live and work and we want it to remain so. We have been working with our partners to develop the Community Safety Mapping by amalgamating our data sources so we can provide more depth on issues effecting residents lives.
SaferMK plans to expand this service even further by providing data from other partners such as the NHS.”
