The town's first television channel has hit the airwaves.
LBtv, Leighton Buzzard's first TV station, broadcast its first live show last Wednesday.
Billed as a village noticeboard of the 21st century, 'for the people of Leighton Buzzard by the people of Leighton Buzzard', it showed seven videos including everything from self defence to a drama group.
Presenter Michael Flynn said: "I was nominated to do it because someone said I looked like Martin Bell in my lightly-coloured suit. But I enjoyed it. It wasn't a bad show, we learned a lot but, it's a bit like when you're at school, we must do better next time. It was very exciting to go live of course."
The audience was also given a chance to interact with the programme, whose format was modelled on the BBC's The One Show, via Twitter, Facebook, email, text message and Windows Live Messenger.
Figures showed that several hundred people tuned into the first show.
Mr Flynn added: "The next live broadcast will take place in a month's time. But our ultimate aim is to be broadcast. That is the ambition."
