A primary school was evacuated today (10/9) after a kitchen fire.
Priory Common First School in Scatterill Close, Bradwell, had a fire in its kitchen after an insulated hot-meal container caught fire on a hob.
Fire services were called to the school at around 10.30am.
Crew Manager, Dan Retter, of Great Holm Fire Station said: "When we arrived, the school had carried out a full evacuation.
"Staff had used a carbon dioxide extinguisher and fire blanket and we cleared the smoke with a fan.
"We would like to praise the staff for their quick response."
The school continued as normal for the remainder of the day, and parents were sent letters explaining what had happened.
