Pedestrian injured in hit and run

PoliceA pedestrian was taken to hospital after a hit and run collision.

The 21-year-old man was struck by a silver Renault Clio on Avebury Boulevard, outside the Xscape building, at around 1am on Saturday (6/3).

The vehicle failed to stop and drove through a set of red traffic lights before turning left towards Fishermead.

The pedestrian was taken to Milton Keynes Hospital and was admitted overnight.

He was released from hospital yesterday afternoon (7/3) with severe bruising.

PC Amy Jennings, investigating said: "Due to it being a Friday night, the city centre was very busy at the time of the collision.

"Fortunately the victim is not seriously hurt but at one point there was a fear he had broken his leg and pelvis and possibly damaged his neck.

"He is badly bruised and very shaken up by what happened.

"His injuries could have been far worse and we want to trace the vehicle involved as soon as possible.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who saw the actual collision occur or saw a silver Renault Clio, possibly with three white men inside, in the city centre or Fishermead area near to the time of the incident."
