A campaign has been launched to find a new 'vision' for Wolverton.
A group of volunteers is asking residents for their views on the town's future.
Marie Osborne, leader of the Wolverton Vision group, which is made up of people who live, work or run businesses in the town, said: "There is a feeling that the regeneration process has lost some momentum and focus and that the best way to get this back is to go back to local people for guidance on what should happen next."
The scheme will update the 20-year vision for the area developed in 2002/3, called the 'Future Wolverton Vision', and address new challenges and priorities including the recession and climate change.
A series of consultation events is to be carried out this month to gather residents' views.
Mrs Osborne said: "It's a very different process than was held in 2002 as we are not starting from scratch, we are just going back to look at it again and make sure it is still relevant."
One issue that is expected to be discussed is the expansion of the Tesco supermarket.
Mrs Osborne added: "There is a feeling that we need to think about how businesses and shops in the town centre can offer something different from what the Tesco store is offering and attract people to them."
Other talking points may be the future of the Agora Centre, public transport and the movement of traffic through the town.
The process is being supported by Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council and Wolverton UN Limited.
Drop in sessions are to be held on Saturday, March 6 at Wolverton Town Hall, Greenleys Community Centre, The Galleon Pub in Old Wolverton and the Facilities Management Office at Wolverton Park from 10am until noon.
Residents can also view displays during the first three weeks in March in the Town Hall, Wolverton Post Office, and The Galleon and questionnaires are being distributed throughout the area.
From Monday, March 8 until Friday, March 12 focus groups are to be held to discuss subjects including environment, energy, transport, family community, sport, economy, housing, learning and arts, heritage and culture.
During the following week a panel of independent judges with expertise in each of these fields will hear evidence.
These sessions will also be open to the public and you can contact the Vision Group beforehand to speak to the panel.
