Milton Keynes-based horse rider Helen Boulton has been given a cash windfall to fulfill her riding dreams.
Helen has worked at PR firm Friday's Media Group since she graduated from The University of Wales with a law degree in 2005.
Now the company has given her £1,800 sponsorship for the 2008 British eventing season.
For the past year Helen has been retraining her ex-showjumper Annie (Animation) in preparation for their first season of affiliated eventing, which will kick off with the first event in April this year.
Helen and Annie train at their home yard in Bow Brickhill during the week and compete locally at weekends.
Helen said: "This is a very exciting time for me as I have always dreamed of being an affiliated event rider, and 2008 will see me fulfil my ambition.
"The sponsorship money from Friday's and their continued support is so incredibly generous and will help me an enormous amount in my debut season with Annie; affiliated eventing is an expensive, time-consuming but rewarding sport and I can hardly wait for my first event."
Dressage coach Alison Kenward BHSII said: "I have worked with Helen for six months or so and am thrilled with the progress she has made, I'm very proud of her performances with Annie. Helen is a pleasure to coach because she works so hard and is open to discussing new ideas and training strategies. Annie is beginning to fulfil her athletic potential and the scene has been set for success in 2008. I feel they are a combination to look out for."
Jill Hawkins, director of Friday's Media Group, said: "Helen juggles her eventing career with Annie alongside her PR career at Friday's, and it is a pleasure every Monday to hear of that weekend's competition successes.
"We are all very much looking forward to an exciting season in 2008, and it is great to be involved in such an exciting sport."
