The pedestrian killed in the early hours of Friday morning after being struck by a car on the A5 has been named as 15-year-old Connor Dyer.

Connor, from Bradville, was reported missing by his mother at 1.55am. An extensive search for Connor was launched and a police dog was used to try and track him.

The collision happened at 3.36am on the northbound carriageway between the Abbey Hill roundabout and Old Stratford, and Connor was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by a silver Toyota Avensis.

No arrests have been made, and the road was closed for around four hours.

Police are now appealing for witnesses, and anyone who has any information should contact 0845 8 505 505, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
