Enterprising women to celebrate International Women's Day
Sixteen local enterprising women who have all worked with Business Link in recent months will be celebrating International Women’s Day on Monday with a ‘Business & Biscuits’ exhibition and workshops at Acorn House, Midsummer Boulevard.

Although all the women now run businesses in Milton Keynes they originate from many different parts of the world including other parts of the UK, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

Their businesses are equally diverse including photography, printing services, life coaching, holistic therapy, handmade jewellery, catering and networking.

Some women will have an exhibition stand while others will be talking about their businesses in a series of half hour presentations.
Business Link will also be attending to talk to other women who would like to explore self-employment.

“For many women self-employment provides an opportunity to earn money in a way that is flexible and can fit around their other responsibilities”, said Business Link’s Paul Griffiths. “The women participating in this event can provide inspiration to others who want to follow their lead – as well as showcasing the range of goods and services they can offer,” he added.

‘Business & Biscuits’ will run from 10:00am to 2:00pm and details can be obtained by contacting Tahnee Campbell – 01908 679859 or   tahnee.campbell@buisnesslinksolutions.co.uk – or by visiting www.facebook.com and searching for the Business Link Enterprise Gateway Service [Milton Keynes] group.

Although people can visit the exhibition at any time attendance at the presentations needs to be pre-booked as numbers are limited. Also, there is a free crèche – but again children need to be booked into this in advance, to ensure that they can be properly looked after.
