A man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to burglary and handling stolen goods.

Kieren Murphy, 26, from Melick Road, Beanhill, was sentenced at Huntingdon Crown Court to two years and six months.

Murphy pleaded guilty to carrying out a burglary at a property in Redhuish Close, Furzton, between June 29 and 30, in which he stole items including a laptop, laptop case, mobile phones, camera and cash.
Murphy also pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods after police recovered property which was traced back to a burglary in The Linx, Bletchley, on June 25.

The sentencing took place on September 8.

PC Mark Burgess, who led the investigation, said: "We are pleased that Murphy has been given a custodial sentence for these offences. Burglary is an extremely intrusive crime and can have a profound effect on the victims and how safe they feel in their own homes.

"Reducing the number of burglaries in Milton Keynes is a priority for us and we will pursue every lead possible to take burglary offenders off the streets."
