Arrests made after taxi drivers robbed at knifepoint

Two men have been arrested after two cab drivers were robbed at knifepoint.

PoliceThe taxi drivers were robbed in Milton Keynes in the early hours of Saturday morning (27/2) in what police are treating as linked incidents.

The first incident happened in Galley Hill and the second in Fuller Slade.

Det Con Jo Pape, investigating, said: "We are treating these offences as being linked due to the close proximity of the locations and times they occurred.

 
"In both cases a knife was used and minor injuries were sustained by both victims.

 
"We would urge anyone with information about the identity of the offenders to contact police."

 
The first incident happened at about 1.50am outside Galley Hill shops in Barford. The taxi driver arrived to pick up a fare and was attacked by a group of five men.
Two of the men had knives and the driver sustained a wound to his face and hands.
 
The offenders stole £250, the victim's wallet, car keys, a mobile phone and his Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) and ran off beneath the underpass leading towards Fullers Slade.

They are all described as white and aged in their early to mid twenties.

 
One offender is about five foot seven inches tall, with a fair complexion and black hair and was wearing a hooded top.

 
The second incident happened at about 3.40am in Malvern Drive, Fullers Slade.

 
The taxi driver arrived to collect a fare and three men approached the vehicle. The driver was punched through the open window and one of the offenders got into the car.

One of the men outside the vehicle threatened the driver with a knife. The victim sustained a small cut to his lip and a wound to his finger.
The men stole cash, car keys, a phone charger and his PDA.

 
The three offenders are white and aged in their early to late twenties. The first man is about six foot tall, thin, with a slim face and dark hair. He was wearing a hooded top with the hood up.
 
The second offender is about five foot four inches and slim.

 
Two men, aged 18 and 19 and both from Milton Keynes, were arrested on suspicion of robbery on February 27 and have been released on police bail until April 24.
