15-year-old girl raped

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information after a 15-year-old was raped in a park in the Bletchley area of Milton Keynes yesterday (Wednesday).

Police were called at 7.58pm, after the girl returned home and informed her parents that she had been raped in a park off of Church Green Road at about 7pm.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of rape this morning (22/2), and remains in police custody at this time.

Det Sgt Luke Grove said: “This was not a random incident and the boy currently in custody is known to our victim.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time, who might have seen or heard anything in connection with this incident.

“As we have someone in custody, and the investigation is at an early stage, we will not be able to comment on this matter any further.

“However, I can confirm that this incident is not being linked in any way to another report of rape in the Milton Keynes area yesterday evening (21/2) that is currently under investigation.”

Anyone with information should contact Det Sgt Grove via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 101.

If you don't want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
