FRIDAY NIGHT FILM - A MAN ESCAPED (U)

EXHIBITOR Daria Martin has selected this 1956 drama/thriller which has been directed by Robert Bresson and written by Michael Brooke.

French Resistance activist Andre Devigny is imprisoned by the Nazis and devotes his waking hours to planning an elaborate escape. Then, on the same day, he is condemned to death and given a new cell mate.

Should he kill him, or risk revealing his plans to someone who may be a Gestapo informer?

The film will be shown at 6.30pm on Friday. Tickets cost £5, (concessions £3) from 01908 676900.

DARIA’S first solo exhibition is a selection of short 16mm films made over the last ten years, including the premier of an ambitious new work, Sensorium Tests.

Her work combines elements of painting, sculpture, performance art, dance, music and science.
