Dim T is another fantastic addition to the city's eateries.
This restaurant bills itself as a modern, relaxed and affordable restaurant but other adjectives might include clean, refreshing and exotic.
Half way through our meal I realised that I was utterly hooked on green tea.
I consumed the best part of two pots before lunch was over and both were served in an iron tea pot which I wanted to take home.
For the health concious among us, the menu includes steamed dishes and salads but we were determined to gorge on the delights of the orient.
With this in mind we ordered four dishes (£2.90 each) from the dim sum menu as a starter.
First on our list was the chicken, wasabi and mushroom basket, three beautifully spicy parcels of tastebud dynamite.
Prawn, crushed peanut and coriander was good but our waiter's recommendation of spicy beef was my personal favourite, with some very nice beef.
Finally we tried the 'buns' option, which was roasted pork encased in a fluffy sweet dough for a change from the standard dim sum.
My guest went for the chicken teryaki (£8.10) with plenty of udon noodles, oyster mushrooms, pak choi, red peppers and spinach.
The presentation was splendid, the portion plentiful and the result, a satisfying main.
I opted for that classic favourite, the crispy duck (£9.40), which was listed in the specialities menu.
The dish included a large leg of duck and plenty of pancakes to drizzle the hoi sin sauce over.
Again, it was immaculately presented (in line with the restaurant's decor), and definitely deserves to be called a house speciality.
At other tables the soup noodles and salads looked very appetising and the ambience was relaxed and fun for the lunch time crowd.
Against all common sense, we decided to try the banana fritters (£3.95) for dessert and another pot of tea each (ginger tea with honey £1.75, gun powder tea £1.80).
Overall the service was excellent, the atmosphere good and the food sublime.
