)THE MUPPETS (U)
Synopsis: The Muppets return with another adventure
Who’s in it: Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie
Don't try and deny it, as deep down you know that you are a fan of the Muppets.
You might try to pretend that you are too old and mature for the comical antics of Kermit, Miss Piggy and friends but everybody is a big kid at heart.
It’s far easier to sit back, chill out and enjoy the ride, as with these characters in tow the ride is always filled with delight.
Huge muppet fan Walter (Jason Linz) his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary’s girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) face a race against time to raise the $10million to save the famous Muppet’s Theatre from being bulldozed.
The man behind this sickening plan is stereotypical evil businessman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper), a money hungry swine who wants to remove the theatre to drill for oil.
This cause brings everyone in the muppet world together in a bid to raise the cash and along the way the film won’t fail to bring a broad smile to your face.
It’s packed full of chirpy and uplifting songs which raise the spirits of even the most gloomy of souls.
There is an enthusiastic energy to the Muppets which is hard to shake off and the jokes, although clearly silly, are charming and warming to the heart.
Also important is the nostalgia factor for adults who may have grown up watching the gang - it’s great watching the film as none of the magic has been lost.
If you don’t like the Muppets, you probably have a heart of stone.
