Kids invited to pen prize story

Do you think you have what it takes to write a short story?
 
The Milton Keynes & North Buckinghamshire Chamber of Commerce in association with the University of Buckingham Press and the Ramada Encore have launched a local school short story writing competition.
The competition open to secondary and primary school children in the Milton Keynes area is for a 1000 word essay on the subject of “Stranger in a strange place”.
 
David Urch,local author and teacher at Bury Lawn School, will be the judge of the best entries.
The ten authors of the 10 essays judged to be the best will each receive copies of books written by David Urch at an award ceremony to be held at Milton Keynes’ Library in June as will their schools.
 
Entries will be accepted at any time up to the start of half term and submissions may be typed or hand written.
You can find out more about the competition this Saturday when David  will be telling stories from and signing copies of his books at Waterstones, Midsummer Place from 11 am until 3 pm.
