Career woman will talk about her experiences in the world of work

A successful businesswoman and director at the Open University will be talking about her career at a Women in Management event.

Beverley Stewart, OU director for student recruitment and financial support, will talk about her experience as a woman carving out a career path in complex corporations at home and abroad.

Ms Stewart, who took up her current position in November 2007, spent nearly 20 years in the commercial sector, having worked in advertising, retail, telecoms and utilities.

During this time she has worked for some of the largest corporations in the UK and Europe including British Gas (Centrica), OneTel, Orange, BT, Vivendi, Nortel Networks, Alcatel and France Telecom.

She openly describes her career as being a colourful one, having dodged a few bullets as she forged her career in sometimes hostile environments.

The Women in Management event takes place at the university on June 30 at 6pm. For more information e-mail wimBooking@womenandwork.co.uk, or call 01908 200186 and ask for Rachel.
